8/20/2008: A nice little video from the convention : Click Here & Enjoy.

8/13/2008- Also, in case anyone missed the positive comments from Fire Engineering Editor Bobby Halton at the FOOLS convention in July, here's the link. The Chief get it.

8/13/2008- O.K. Welcome back. After a computer meltdown by the web master we are back online. The 1st course of action was updating the L.O.D.D. table down below. Sadly I added 35 brothers to the list today with a heavy heart. Our next meeting will be 9/5 hosted by East Quogue. Hope to see you there. Any information, fundraisers, training information please forward to be put up on the site.

8/13/2008 - Here U.S.F.A. has released it's report on our 2007 deaths. Read it and see if there's anything you can do to help drop the numbers.

The Secret List paraphrased it for those with short attention spans:

Here is the U.S.F.A. overview of the 118 Firefighters that died while on duty in 2007:
=68 volunteer Firefighters and 50 career Firefighters died while on duty.
=There were 7 Firefighter fatality incidents where 2 or more Firefighters were killed, claiming a total of 21 firefighters' lives.
=11 Firefighters were killed during activities involving brush, grass, or wildland firefighting, the lowest in over a decade.
=Activities related to emergency incidents resulted in the deaths of 76 Firefighters.
=38 Firefighters engaging in activities at the scene of a fire.
=26 Firefighters responding to or returning from emergency incidents.
=11 Firefighters were engaged in training activities.
=15 Firefighters after the conclusion of their on-duty activity.
=Heart attacks were the most frequent cause of death for 2007, with 52 Firefighter deaths.

5/8/08- Suffolk FOOLS was informed today that Nassau FOOLS Trustee Peter Scarinzi of the Rockville Centre FD has taken ill. Peter is in N.U.M.C. and is not accepting visitors at this time. There are no other details at the moment but we ask that all Suffolk members join our Nassau brothers in keep Peter in your thoughts and prayers.

5/6/08 We would like to welcome our newest member: Mark Gregory of East Quogue to the fold. East Quogue has also stepped up to host the September meeting for us. Thanks boys.

2/29/08- A little video sent to us from out Brothers at Palm Beach County FOOLS. Enjoy it and share if you want.

2/29/08 - Several FOOLS members from around the country are participating in St. Baldricks for childhood cancer research. Find one and support him/her. http://www.stbaldricks.org/#

2/26/08 - The peoples Burn Center is looking for members to go to a web site and to review and input information on the upcoming "To Hell an Back 3" scheduled to be debuted at the FDIC in April at Indianapolis. Click on the title to go to the International site and sign up to participate.

2/25/08- Your President has submitted an article that has been placed in the Training Section of the International's site. Click HERE to read it. If anyone has any ideas for articles, feel free to either submit them the international or to us.

2/24/08 - L.O.D.D. list updated - 22 members lost as of 2/23.

2/1/08: At the end of January we have lost 11 Brother/Sister Firefighters, let's hope it slows down as the year progresses.

5/08- Less than half way through the first month of the year and we already have 6 LODD in the U.S. Let's all hope the pace slows down for the brothers & sisters. Best wishes to all of you and your families.

1/5/08- It's the 5th day of the month and we have 3 LODD's to put down in the section. Let's hope this is an

aberration. We send our wishes to the families of the departed.

A Happy & safe 2008 to all our members and their families!!!

1/1/2008: The update for those who haven't heard- the Asst. Chief from the news blurb dated 8/18/07 went to court & had his hearing and  was found not guilty after a one day trial. While I'm glad it worked out several people did have to take time off from work to answer this charge in court. It truly is a shame that it needed to come to that....

Are you a FOOL?

The only qualification is that you are true to your profession, and accept our mission in principle and in action.  All that matters is that you have our back, and we have yours.

Who Are the Fools

We are career, on-call, volunteer and retired firefighters (EMS welcome) with a passion for the camaraderie and brotherhood that is forged between firefighters, and the rich tradition and heritage of the Fire Service.

We are committed to being as well trained as possible – for ourselves, our brother firefighters, our families, and for the citizens we protect.  That is why we strive to provide quality training in all forms (hands-on, classroom & informal training).

We believe in giving back to our communities and helping those in need, which is why we have long been active in charitable fundraisers, raising money and giving our time to help burn victims, children with cancer, and the families of fallen firefighters

We at Suffolk FOOLS wish to thank the hundreds of FOOLS web sites we have stolen from to put this page up. The list is long and distinguished, so much so that we won't even attempt to thank you all individually.

If you are irate at our Research & Development ( F.D. translation Rip-off & Duplicate) please email us and will take down your stuff. Lawyers, guns and money will not be a necessity.
